Hi Paperfrock,

I have a long line of Philips on my mums fathers side of the family. They were originally from Fownhope which is just down the road from Upton Bishop.

I will see what I can find out for you...:)

Hi,
Thank you, I think James and Eliza  lived at Tannhouse cottages, they had 4 sons and1 daughter,
Thomas,James,Henry and George and Eliza Ann.
The men are all Agric Labourers (if they are the right Phillips ).

Hi there, James Opie born 1847 Cornwall and Eliza Opie (Phillips) born 1850 also Cornwall are my great grand pairents. James travelled a lot between Cornwall and South Africa where Eliza seemed to stay in Cornwall.
