1871 census - Kinsey

Request lookup in 1871 census for Evan Kinsey, born about 1805 (according to 1881 census) in Llanwnog, occupation parish clerk.   Children, John born about 1861, Harriet born about 1863 and Matilda born about 1866.   All born in Llanwnog.   I'm particularly interested in his wife's name and any other children.

Evan 10 yrs - then Mary 5 months so it looks as though there was a previous marriage

there are several deaths which could be Margaret's 1841- 1851 and a possible marriage to Jane Jones 1850.

Hi heywood, that's really great.   I had my suspicions that he may have been married before.   The 1881 census gives his age as 76 and despite showing as married there was no wife in evidence.   In addition the youngest child was 15.   Now I know his wife's (wives) names I can go ahead and confirm.

Evan Morgan Kinsey had 2 wives.
he married Elizabeth Ashton who was previously Savage 16 Dec 1835 in Llanidloes.They had 2 children? Ann Kinsey 1837 not sure about this one.Then they has Evan Kinsey born 16 Feb 1838 Caersws,Montgomeryshire he died in 1861.
Elizabeth Ashton(Savage) died 30 Jan 1843 in Caersws.
Evan married again to Jane Jones 16 July 1843.
Jane was born 4 Nov 1822 in Llanwnog. they had at least 3 children Mary Ann Kinsey 29 Oct 1850 Llanwnog, Sarah 5 May 1858 Llanwnog and Matilda 6 Jul 1965 Llanwnog, but they could be the parents of Jane 21 July 1854 Llanwnog,Annie 7 Aug 1856 Llanwnog, John 18 Oct 1860 Llanwnog and Harriet 1 Oct 1862 Llanwnog
Evan Morgan died 5 Jan 1891 he had been the Parish Clerk for over 40 years they had lived at Tynllan in Llanwnog.
Jane Died 11 Feb 1903 Llanwnog.These are my gr gr grandparents .Mary Ann died 1918 Gwynedd,She married Richard Whittall 1 Apr 1873 in Newtown and had 8 children,Jane Kinsey died 17 Sep 1877 Llanwnog,Annie died 1 DEC 1939 in Caersws buried in Llanwnog,Sarah died 13 Aug 1900 Caersws she married David Kinsey Thomas and had 4 children,John died 11 Jul 1939 Llanwnog,buried Llanwnog,he married Abigail and had 6 children,Harriet no other information,or for Matilda.

For your information Walter Evan Kinsey, Evan Kinseys grandson married Mary Margaret Jones 29 Apr 1929 in Alberta, Canada.   She was my 1st cousin, once removed our common ancestors were Jonathan Jones, b. 1849 Carno, Mont. and Anne Jones, b. 1850 also in Carno, Mont.
