Meerbusch is in the Duchy of Kleve as you can read from this link:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meerbusch

In one of the towns, namely Lank, there is the Teloy Mill named after Ludwig Teloy who operated it from 1863 and it was named after him but was built by a baker, Adolph Frangen. Teloy's son Eduard Teloy, took over the milling business and operated it until 1912. It now belongs to the Lank-Latum council.

When I put the name Teloy and Meerbusch in Google, a number of Teloys popped up who have businesses there.

Why a young man would have left Kleve for England is not known to me - Napoleon occupied the area later.

Anne of Cleves became Queen Consort to Henry VIII - Anna von Kleve-Jülich but that was much earlier!!!

If you are gathering small clues here and there:
Was Gottfried or maybe Godtfried a common name in the family ?

This would most likely have changed to Godfrey in Britain.
