Sailor/Mariner Cap Badge identification
« on: Saturday 07 August 10 12:34 BST (UK) »
Can anybody identify this cap badge on what I believe to be a
British Merchant Navy Uniform but could be wrong.
Its definitely Marine, and worn circa WW1 circa 1918.

It looks like 2 crossed maple leaves, with a striped flag in the centre.
On the flag, a boat with two buoys on the port side and the letters YB
over the boat.  There also appears to be another motif in the top left corner

Many thanks and sorry about poor quality
