I am not wanting to waste anyones time!!

My question was and still is about  Frederick. What happened to him and his children

After he married and had Herbert they seem to have vanished?

And no one seems to know anything.

Thank-you

I think that the efforts shown on your multiple threads demonstrate that people are trying to help - but with the resources available online, Frederick, Anne & Herbert cannot be found on the 1871 census onward.

It may have been that Herbert was under a stepfathers name in 1871/81 - altho no deaths or remarriages support this - however, it could be that Frederick upped sticks and Ann sought solace and help to raise Herbert..... the census entries dont guarantee stated relationships!

Be so kind as to detail how you know he went to Australia in 1882 age 18?

What other records in post 1882 Australia show more details of this man Herbert?

Thank-you.
Herbert went to Australia in 1883 on the Earl Granville
Leaving Plymouth UK arriving Maryborough QLD  18 April 1883
This is from QLD passsenger list 1848 -1912.

His trade was an engineer and family story has it went either on a refrigeration ship or went as a refrigeration engineer.
My Great Aunts family tree says he had 2 brothers.

I know his details once he got to Australia through relatives.
But no relatives seem to know what happened to his parents.

Thank-you & I do appreciate everyone participating and the help they bring in this search.

just no sign of him on the 1881 census - England / Wales / Scotland - omitting surname, omitting forename, making no assumptions on PoB etc - and even trying permutations of occupation.

Tough one !
