I think Barrie may have put a comma in his email addy when he meant to put a full stop.

May I suggest that you send him a personal message asking for his current email address?  If he is still active he should receive notification of your message.

Hi Clare H and Barrie,

Perhaps you are not aware but in the guidelines to posting on RootsChat  - they ask us not include personal contact details in postings.
This includes e-mail addresses, postal addresses, telephone numbers, etc. (spamming etc)

You will be able to modify your post to delete yours Clare but Barrie would have to ask a moderator to do his for him. (We only have 24 hours to modify posts)

Hope this helps
Happy New Year Everyone.

I can't add anything useful to what has been said, but I've been struck by how many places are familiar to me from my own family -- Cawsand, where my great-great-great grandfather lived (and whose antecedents were mysterious until a few months ago), Diptford, South Brent, Dittisham, even Singapore, where I lived  70 years ago.

For anyone interested in Cawsand it's worth noting that Cawsand and Kingsand are effectively one village, and I think they have been for a long time. However, until the county boundaries were redrawn in the 19th century, the boundary between Devon and Cornwall ran between the two, with Kingsand in Devon (like most of the Mount Edgecombe peninsula). All of it is now in Cornwall.
Cornish (Devon), Bowden (Cornwall, Devon), Kitson (Devon, not North Lancashire), Karslake (Devon), Eales (Devon), Churchill (Dorset -- no known connection with Sir Winston), Duncan (Ireland), Colclough (Ireland, not Staffordshire), McMurtry (Ireland), Browning (Hampshire, Dumfries), Heberden (various), Rogers (Thurlestone, Devon)
