where graves are Higham Ferrers
« on: Sunday 15 August 10 15:32 BST (UK) »
Hi,

My husband's grandparents were burried in Higham ferrers grave yard on walf road. They were buried in two seperate graves. They do not have any head stones or markings on them so can't identify them.
Muriel chamberlain died 1990. Wilfred chamberlain 1985.
Does anyone know where we can go to try and find out where they are buried.

Sarah

Hi Carol.  :)

I know you didn't mean me but I'm shouting.

How big is the cemetery?

I need to go and collect all the war graves and knowing in advance
would help me please.

Also do you think the Town Hall might have a Cemetery Map at all.

The town hall was open today and was showing off it's council chambers upstairs. Yes they do hold a cemetery map. They will only look for you in the week though.

It's quite a big graveyard, starting in the late 1800's once the church yard became full(they've all been flattened now, which is really sad  :() and a newer section which nearly all has headstones.

Mostly from about the 1960's I think.

I don't have anyone in there none of my family are 'local'.

Hi Sandy

The town hall is only open from 10-12.

Let me know when you're coming to HF and maybe we could meet for coffee?

Hi again Carol.

I glad you said when the Town Hall was open just 2 hours a day.

I met Scimnet (that son of mine) and his other half today, he said I
needed to sit down, I had only just arrived.  :o

Must have been the shock of seeing me.  :)  :)  :)
