Hello Jim,

My name is Jean and Ann is my cousin.  My grandfather Robert was Solomon's
brother and my mother was Joyce born 1927.

Ann and I have been working on the family tree for some time now.

Best wishes

Jean

Hello Jim

Solomon is my gg grandfather.  My Nan Elizabeth was the daughter of Edith Solomon's daughter.  If you want to let me have an email address I have a few photos I can share with you.

As already mentioned above Louisa (Elliott) and her brother (Thomas) seemed to visit their maternal grandparents at their house - 10 Henry Road, Shirley, Southampton.  Here Louisa and her husband Ernest Stammers were lodging at the 1901 census.  The census statess that other members of the travelling family were living nearby in their caravans.  I have met a lady who lives quite close to Henry Road and she tells me the land at the end of that road has never been developed (presumably where the caravans were in 1901)  There is now an application to build there.  I guess anyone who is having problems tracing members of the travelling families of Elliott and West at the 1901 census might be able to find them at the above at the time.  I've been endeavouring to draw up the family tree from Edward and Sarah down to Louisa, Solomon and siblings - seems virtually all have some descendants but still nothing on Louisa sadly.

Hi, my name is Wayne crabtree...very pleased to have read this thread, and have found out rather a lot already, regarding my grandparents, and great grandparents. My grandmother was a Margeret Rose Elliott, married Alfred Crabtree Circa 1945....They had two sons Thomas and Ronald, my father being the eldest, Thomas. My grandmother was the daughter of solomon Elliott, born 1896, and her mother Lillian. My grandparents, always lived in Abbeywood, and I myself still live locally...would very much like to recieve more information about my grandmother , as she passed away when I was very young. I have been told of her background, and that she was supposed to have also been a fighter in the booth. All information very much needed. many thanks

I am trying to research my ancestry and have discovered that my parents were Romany and somehow connected to the fairground. I have discovered that Taylors are mentioned in Solomon and Edward Elliott fairground. My father was Henry Taylor and my mother was Grace. My grandparents were Thomas Taylor and Emily Trout. My Grt, grt grandfather was Plato Taylor.
I remember being taken to the fairground at Wansted Flats as a child and having free rides while my parents went to visit with someone.
Can anyone help me to make the connection?
Lena
