Martha first appears in the 1860 census at age 5 living with foster parents~I'm not really certain about her last name spelling Moffit? Moffett?
It seems likely she was born in the US as she was so young, but could it be possible that her parents or mother died aboard ship?
Is any Moffitt missing a Martha?
