:( Bugger. What ever it is, it's still making Bill's first marriage a tough one to crack, isn't it?

:o Then again though ..... That's all on the assumption (albeit a perfectly reasonably based one) that his first wife was Louisa.

What if that was his Mothers name?  8)

Hmmm ..... I'm not exactly awash with readies here. Just spent a score and got a 50% good result from it. But, even so, that Exeter marriage just seems so enticing.

Could it be that the intrepid Annette has got a spot of Louisa blindness here? None of the Lou's fit. " Barges " is a step into the realms of blind faith. The Hatter's good though.

Tossing up between that and the right name, right age, good place .....

I'm not a gambling man. But I do fancy a tenner on Bill Burge, 1846 in Exeter.

 Anyone ....?

What the pit tells me about my Chubb:

When Elizabeth Chubb was born in September 1838 in Axminster, Devon, her father, John, was 37, and her mother, Ms. Elizabeth, was 37.  She had three brothers and one sister.

Thanks, Polar Bear. Yeppers. Jane the Umbrella Mender. Got her, and most of her siblings.

Now, I'd like to find her Dads siblings. There's sure to be plenty. But, the many ways their surname gets spelled is making it hell on earth, even for the most expert.

But, anyway, all that's neither here nor there, in my mind .....

Where's " Tephra " ??? Anyone in touch with her, in closer to real life? I'm genuinely concerned. She'd just dropped off the radar, some while back.
