William Lewis - Minister Parc CM Chapel CWMPARC
« on: Tuesday 17 August 10 12:33 BST (UK) »
I am researching the family history of William Lewis born 1841 Llanelly, Carmarthenshire. He was a CM Minister at Spite CM Chapel in Llanfynydd and later from 1884 at Parc Welsh CM chapel Cwmparc, Glamorgan.

I know his wife was Catherine and I have his children's details but am stuck with his parents except that his father was Thomas Lewis a Fireman in the iron works.

Is there any more information available out there about William please, or can you perhaps point me in the right direction

... thank you

Do you have Catherine's maiden name or the marriage certificate?

If not, you could purchase the birth certificate for Joseph Brychan O Lewis born 1880 (Sep Q)
Llandilofawr 11a 779

One possible marriage is to Catherine Davies in 1870 (Jun Q)
Llandilofawr 11a 940

Gower,
Have found quite a number of references 1870 onwards to the Parch. William Lewis, both at Llanfynydd and Cwmparc, in the Welsh publications "Y Goleuad" and "Y Baner ac Amserau".

But none reveal anything about his family. They tend simply to list the minister/s preaching at various religous meetings

regards

Heddwch I believe Thomas was born in 1808, also in Llanelli.

I have family details. His eldest daughter, Olivia Sarah Jane, became a head teacher. She married Henry Morgan in 1906. My paternal grandparents.
But none reveal anything about his family. They tend simply to list the minister/s preaching at various religous meetings

I am also researching him. I believe his wife was Catherine. I've traced him up to 1911 census. I'm missing details of three children who died young
