Ian Hewitt Noel Terry

Ian Terry (Paddy) was a bomber pilot in the RAF.  He was shot down in 1941 and reported as missing presumed dead.  His name appears on the War Memorial in Bembridge.  Does anyone know of any connection he could have had with the Isle of Wight?

I understand his godparents lived on the Isle of Wight and he spent many school holidays staying with them.
