Phillips in Milford/Pembroke Dock area
« on: Wednesday 18 August 10 14:34 BST (UK) »
Hi All,

I'm trying to research my mother's line of Phillips and have hit a wall - can anyone help or see matches with their own trees perhaps?  This is what I have so far:-

William Phillips m. Anne Thomas (b abt 1786) in Carew on 28 Jan 1815
had at least 2 children:

John Phillips (b. 19 Nov 1816 in Milford And Sandy Haven, d. abt 1866-9), m. Sarah Cook (?)  (b. abt 1816 in Sealyham)
and
David Phillips (b. 22 Jun 1826 in Carew)

John & Sarah Phillips had at least 7 children: Mary (b. abt 1837 Haverfordwest), Elizabeth (b. abt 1840, d. bef 1851), George Henry (b. 27 May 1844 in Clarence Street, Pembroke Dock, d. 16 Jun 1878 in Gillingham, Kent), John (b. 02 Jan 1847 in Upper Terrace, Pembroke Dock, d. 06 Aug 1921), Alfred (b. 03 Mar 1849 in Prospect Row, Pembroke Dock), Robert (b. Bet. Apr - Jun 1851 in Pemb. Dock), and George James (b. 12 Mar 1853)

George H. Phillips was my g.g. grandfather and moved to England to work in the Gillingham area (he was a shipwright like his father), married Charlotte Gillingham and then I have pretty much the rest of the line after that.

I'm really trying to get more on the 1st 3 individuals above and to push their line further back if possible.

Any/all help appreciated!

Thanks,
Martin

Hi. I have an ancestor, Gelly Johns or John (s was added to surname about 1780) from Pembroke born about 1800. He married a Margaret Phillips born Pembroke 1804. They were wed at St Botolph Bishopsgate Dec 25 1824 London. Both the Johns and Phillips also closely tied to Lang family o Woodehouse near Fishguard.
