PRICE, JENKINS, THOMAS in LLANFAIR AR Y BRYN

I'm just starting researching the family of David Price, a taylor (b 1817ish), son of Thomas Price and Gwenllian Evans and his second wife Anne Jenkins (b 1840ish) daughter of John Jenkins and Catherine Jones of Gelli.  Also Thomas Davies, a miner and Anne's first husband (b 1834ish).  All are from Llanfair ar y bryn.  Anne ran the Post Office in Cynghordy around 1890.

Is any one researching any of these folk?  Also any info on Llanfair ar y bryn in general would be gratefully received, I'm having difficulty getting my head around this area.

Anne Davies, Servant at a Mining Office (Domestic), a widow age 44  living at Panney, Llanbrynmair in 1881 with her daughter Sarah, a 20 year old Lead Ore Dresser.

This is the right family and the post office web site looks as though it might be very useful.  I've got a bit of work to do to find my way around it but it looks as though it should be worth it as Anne Price should be in the PO appointments and pension records somewhere .....

Kelly's directory 1895 has this entry:

Llanfair-ar-y-bryn
Post Office Cynghordy
Mrs Ann James sub-postmistress.
Letters arrive from Llandovery RSO Carmarthenshire, which is the nearest money order & telephone office, at 11am

so Ann James was at Post Office by 1895.

That's very interesting.  I wonder if it is my Anne.  I know she was born Jenkins and was married to a Davies before she married a Price ..... but did she marry a James as well I wonder.

I've come across Kelly's for North Wales and it covers the whole of North Wales and I think it was published annually?  I wonder if Kelly's covers the whole of South Wales, if it does I think I ought to be able to get hold of Kelly's locally as I now live in S E Wales and I could check out who was at the post office in Cynghordy year by year.  That would be useful.  I think one of Anne's daughters ran the P.O. after her - I could check that out too.
