Official NSW state records list her as McKearman, are the records incorrect?

Hi there,

Catherine McKEARNAN  (notice NAN) aka McKEARMAN, tried August 1794 at Kings County, sentenced to transportation 7 years beyond the seas, arrived Sydney 11 Feb 1796 per the ship Marquis Cornwallis .  as per convict indents

The new Index to early Convict Records has her surname as McKEARMAN, and if you ‘click’ on the live links you arrive at the two documents that our OP is citing.

http://www.records.nsw.gov.au/state-archives/indexes-online/indexes-to-convict-records/index-to-early-convict-records/index-to-early-convict-records

From the 1811 Muster
Catherine KEARNEY, convicted March 1791 Philipstown, 7 years sentence, arrived per the ship Marquis Cornwallis

Hope the above info helps to find her trial place, and her native place.

JM
