current address: Montreal

If you think this could be your Bill/William Claxton, you can order the full military file through the above site which may have other info.

You are a genius!  Bill must have been a sister -Wilhelmena.  Some-one in the family thought there was Wilhelmena....... but the postcard from Bill to sisiter-in-law Jenny kept muddling me.

Thank you so much :) :) :)

This doesn't prove there was no William...( I have heard women call themselves Billie, but never Bill, altho it could be) valerie has proven there was a William male b. 1885 same place...need to see who his parents were before abandoning him.

Well, do see a William right age in the home of mother Susanna, 1911/1901 and there isn't one with Wm/Ann, so he'd had to have left home very young if he existed...

Hi again!

I know that some of the Claxton family moved to Co. Waterford - and then some moved back to Laois.  Several Claxton families now in both counties ???.

The postcard was sent from Spruce ?St, Toronto in 1912 - ....... "Willie wrote a few lines to you last week"  so yes, there probably was another William.  "love to all.  Yrs Bill".

My daughter has just said that this is like being a detective!!

Good wishes,

Danishdots
