I wonder if anyone can help - I have spent hours trying to find the family link between these two people. Margaret Jane Freezer (born Sept Qtr 1875 in Gressenhall, Norfolk) is our direct ancestor. Her parents were Thomas Freezer (b1823 Beetley Norfolk, died 1880 ditto) and Mary Ann Winter (born 1831 Gressenhall died 1905 Mitford Norfolk). She married John Stainthorpe Marsay and they lived in and around the Middlesbrough area. Their firstborn son, who died in infancy, was named David Lothian Marsay.The family story is that she pined for the sea (because she had lived with her 'grandfather', a mariner, in Whitby), and died young of a broken heart. I therefore tried to find out about this grandfather. What I did find is that in the 1881 census she still lived with her parents in Norfolk, but in 1891 she lived with her 'cousin', David Lothian, a mariner, in Ruswarp near Whitby. David's father, Edward Lothian (born 1818 in Robin Hoods Bay, died 30 November 1896 in Whitby, married to Mary Hodgson 1821-9.3.1892) was also a mariner, as was David's elder brother, also Edward Lothian. The graves of Edward junior and David Lothian are in Fylingdales churchyard. I have followed all Frazer/Freezer, Winter and Lothian family lines but have failed to find the blood link between Margaret Freezer/Frazer and David Lothian. Any suggestions?
