We live next to a cemetery and are intrigued by one headstone. It relates to EMILY WADDINGTON, wife of FREDERICK SYDNEY WADDINGTON, Solicitor. She died on 9 August 1887, aged 28, and is buried in the parish church cemetery of St. Nicholas, Chiswick, Middlesex (west London).

There is no mention of her or her husband in the 1881 Census that I can find, and no death certificate either (or marriage certificate, come to that).

Maybe someone out there has some ideas what we might do next to discover more about this lady and her husband?

Hi and thanks for that information as I've been researching this family today to find other descendants, as I am descended from the said Frederick Sydney Waddington's brother Percy. Percy went to NZ married Elizabeth Peeress Brown and had 8 children, one of them my grandmother. there are numerous descendants here. Frederick had two sisters, one Rosa Susanne W. was married in 1911 at Christchurch, Hampshire County, and the other Lillian Susannah Eden Waddington is not known to have married, so it seems there are no descendants other than Percy's. Is anything else known about the other siblings of Percy whether they had any children? The umbrella making premises was at 1 Coleman Street in London EC2 and it belonged to his father and grandfather James and great grandfather William who was originally from Stock farm in Bracewell, not far from Waddington Village. William  is said to be buried at Shoreditch at St Leonards' or Bunhill Fields nearby.

Hi clare henry

Welcome to Rootschat  ;D

k7ght hasn't been online here since making their last post on 26 Aug 2010.

As long as their email address hasn't changed, they should receive an email notification that you have posted and hopefully come back soon.
