1851 census, occupation?

Can anyone tell me what this occupation says? its from the 1851 census (i put the census reference thingy on too to make it easy lol)
Smith, Tolley, Griffiths,
Monaghan, Richards, Clark, Clarke,
Brazier, Filben, Fibben,Filbin
Sherdon, Churden,Sheldon
Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, Bilston, Kent, London, Middlesex

Hi Truebritmega.

I'd hazard a guess at Licentiate of the Society of Apothecaries, and Member of the Royal College of Surgeons.

I guess you got the last bit - 'in General Practice' - just in case!

Agree LSA, I see MRCSE, maybe Member of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh(?)

Agree LSA, I see MRCSE, maybe Member of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh(?)


Or ... of England? Might be slightly more likely given it's an English census and he was born in London, though there's no reason why a Scottish doctor shouldn't be practising in England or why an Englishman shouldn't have qualified in Edinburgh.

I think the convention is that the last initial denotes the University where the person graduated.
