that's what i thought it might say but I have no idea what a tank makers labourer is  ???  im after a farmer or farm labourer!

Well I don't think it's battlefield tanks, I think you still could be on the right track ( forgive the pun, ) All kinds of tanks existed in Agriculture . Slurry tanks, septic tanks, water tanks, feed and fodder containers etc, most farms had visits from  itinerant journeymen at various times, maybe the farm labourer assisted these journeymen .
