Malone: Wicklow
« on: Tuesday 31 August 10 12:00 BST (UK) »
Have been tracing my mother's family back through several generations and am now trying to complete a few loose ends!  Looking for any info concerning her great grandfather's wife's mother!!  She was Ann Malone, mother of Margaret (b 1861 Dublin). From the 1891 and 1901 England census, I know that Ann Malone was born in approx 1831 in Ireland.  1891 census says Dublin, 1901 census says "Toltardstown" Wicklow, which I am making an assumption (!!) could be a typo of Talbotstown?  Ann Malone died in Taunton, Somerset in about 1910.  I would like to find out whom she married (Mr Malone!) and possible names of parents.  She would have been in Ireland from her birth until about 1890/1 when the first census has her living with her daughter's family in Somerset, England.  Her daughter, Margaret, was married in Dublin to William Bellamy (St Jude's 1883).  Thanks for any help, hints, info.

Paul

Maybe to start it would be an idea to check for baptism details for Margaret ?

Do you know where in Dublin (city, county, suburbs..) she was born ?

Full civil registration started in Ireland in 1864, and for details before that date you need to research parish records. see : Introduction to Irish Records

Does Margaret's marriage cert not list the name and occupation of her father ?

Hey great find ... cheers!  I will see if I can work from that!  I already knew that William bellamy was in the guards, so address at a barracks confirms it's the right marriage!

Im not sure i do!   basically was tying up loose twigs on the family tree!!  The Malone connection is that my mum's nan's mother was bought up by her grandparents, the female was Margaret Malone!
