Have you remembered to change the title of the new photo you are trying to post?

Isaac Savage, son of Helena and John, brother of Eliza, married Jane, the savage family also owned Folly out by the "new" bridge, which they either gave or sold to my grandfather Richard Willis to farm.around 1916 My father grew up there.
Also the Savage family owned or built a cottage or cottages which were rented out. Fact.  The last cottage was sold in 1960 I think, some of the money from this furnished our first sitting room when we got married.
I know these are facts.

If I could find some land deeds it may give me more info.
Sorry my time at computer is very limited at present. Am trying to work out family connections in the meantime. Boobah

So good of Agaghadowey and Maggie to go to so much trouble.  I am wondering where the Isaac Savage who built the Olde Bakery comes in. Isaac Savage son of Helena and John was living in the Olde Bakery with his wife Jane in the i950, so we know the founder ? builder of bakery was definitely the line of Savage I "you" are trying to trace.

There was a connection in America Jenny Savage my aunt used to visit regularly . Could be that the Isaac you talk of could have stayed with relatives already there, as that was commonly done in early Irish families.

Hello Aghadowey, I want to get death certs for 1890s and births for early 1800 I need to look up Parish Reg. possibly I am really concerned as to how the little ones died on Helena Savage`s Gravestone. I feel kind of weepy looking at it now...
The Isaac Savage who built the "Olde Bakery" is a puzzle, could he be an uncle I am wondering of John Savage (Tempo)  did he start the Savages off in Kinsale and also maybe came from Tempo or NI .  The military data might help. As Kinsale garrison townand the Fort alone housed 1000 personnel from what I rem.  Maybe that is how they got to Kinsale. These dates are difficult to find.
So interesting all this, many thanks for so much work done.
Cheers Boobah

I checked the civil registration index for an earlier Isaac Savage- only entry that came up is for Isaac James Savaage's birth. Therefore, it looks as though the older Isaac Savage possibly might have died before 1864 (when civil registration of deaths began).

Death certificates for 1890s will be available but remember not much detail will be given. See here:

For pre-1864 births you will need to see if church records still exist.

Why am I crying Celtic Liberty, when they all died so long ago ? The photo is so large. Can read all the writing. Great. My instinct was right re Isaac Savage 1838  who built bakery, he was from Fermanagh.  Maybe I should go by my instincts a bit more.  I tend to think the first Savage in Kinsale probably came there with the army.Annoying only initials for the army.
I have a large picture of Helena Savage in the attic. Will get son to photo it and put it on board when he next visits.
Was that bakery down at the Trident end of town, or in the center. I think there may be two places called "Old Bakery" the one out towards World End. Was lived in by Isaac Son of Helena up till 1960`s
Can`t thank you enough for those photos even if I am crying because of them.Boobah
