My grandmother was Jessie Reid, as was my mother.  My grandmother was from Lhanbryde.  I know she was a housemaid.  My mother was born in 1923 so I would guess my grandmother was born around 1890.  I believe my grandmother and grandfather were cousins. My grandfather was John Reid, firstly a ploughman, I think, and then a distillery worker. Dont know if this will contribute to any of these threads about Reids from Lhanbryde.  I can provide more info if anyone is interested.
