Hello Sharon
Many thanks for the Dean Road Cemetery photographs - sorry, but my g-grandfather is in Manor Road Cemetery.

These are certainly interesting as it is sad to see the derelict church (old,  stone,  and so much more fitting than the modern ones we see these days).  There are  couple of boarded up chapels in Guisborough Cemetery too.  I was somewhat taken aback on my last visit to Guisborough, to see the Cemetery Lodge had been renovated, and inhabited as a private dwelling.

If you have anything of Manor Road Cemetery it would be appreciated.

Regards
Ceeoh

Hi Ceeoh, after a bit of a panic I have now realised it is the same cemetery and goes under both names of Manor Road/Dean Road so it is the right one. I was wondering how I had got the wrong one!  The cemetery is huge and begins at Columbus Ravine, runs alongside Dean Road and ends alongside Manor Road.  I love the old church and think it is such a shame that it is in such a poor state of disrepair.

I will have more photos for you next weekend.

Meles, I will certainly keep an eye out for any Gambles for you too.

Sharon

Very many thanks Sharon - I've learned something today then.

Perhaps one day I may get to visit Scarborough - haven't been there for about 40+ years.  Will put it on the list for the next (hopefully) visit.

Thanks again

Ceeoh

Thanks, Sharon. I know they lived there, but don't have a clue where they were buried. But a serendipitous finding might give a hint.

Hi Sharon

Here are the details of the grave no's I have been waiting for...

Edmund John Brown  Grave no. South Terrace 2 - 26
Emily Brown   Grave no.  V Border 123
Edmund John Brown  Grave no.  South Terrace 5 - 27

Don't worry if you are unable to find them as I do appreciate the cemetery is a very big one and would take some walking round - a photo of the South Terrace & V Border area would be nice but only if you are around that area.

Thanks Again

Kind Regards
Sally
