PS:  The map showing the location of the Hawk Inn is interesting.  Someone must have some really detailed drawings and maps of that area.  Perhaps the National Archives in Kew



I don't know why you want more detailed maps. The 1:500 plan permits detail to be shown with a resolution of six inches. Of course even when you zoom in on the map I gave the link to, you are not getting the full scale.
I know Sunderland Library hold the similar 1:528 plans for Sunderland, so it may be worth while contacting Gateshead Library to see if they have these town plans or where they are. http://www.localhistorygateshead.com/?virtual=1

There is a photo on fb Memory lane Gateshead of The Hawk Pub, on Bottle Bank. On the left hand side of the pub there appears to be a sign offering lodgings which may be the entrance to where you are looking for. Happy to help, I'm also researching Courts in the area.
