Hi all,

Regarding the above message - I don't think that's our Hynes as John according to those dates would have been born c1786. Also the fact that Timothy and Philip Hynes went to New Zealand from Scotland on the ship "Storm Cloud".

Hi all,

This is great, thanks to everyone for the info so far,

Patrick McTigue is definately Mary Hynes nee McTigues brother, there was also a sister Sabina McTigue who married a John Athy, and a sister Bridget McTigue who married James McLean, all living in Fairfax, NZ.

I am trying to find out more about Patrick McTigue and his wife Winifred O'Grady. Not sure where she fits in to the O'Grady family, but would love to find out. Patrick and Winifred had 9 children, James, Thomas, Ellen, James (again) Margaret, John, Michael, Malachi and Winifred.

Hope someone can help   :)

HI,

I'm not sure who Patrick McTigues parents are, have to be careful as there are two Patrick McTigues, one in Canterbury and my Patrick in Milton Otago. Patrick is me gggrandfather. I haven't got any of his children married to a Julia.

His son Thomas married Ellen Kilgarriff, son James married Elizabeth Leslie, son John married Florence McMillan, son Michael died at 18 and Malachi married Mary Dimond.

Not sure if this is helpful for you, hope so :)
