He could be the Charles Edwards born in Llanddewi Brefi Parish around 1880.
In 1901 he was living in Dothie Pysgottwr, Cardigan. 20 years old Farmers Son.

Marriage of Charles Edwards and Anne Jones in 1919 (Sep Q)

Hi, Thanks for the replies.
On the 1911 census Charles Edwards was living at Glanllyn Hall Llanilar Aberystwyth aged 25 born in Ruabon Denbighshire, he was still single then.
Yes I have found the marriage of Charles Edwards to Anne Jones Sept 1919 volume 11b page 59. in Lampeter.
What I was hoping, that some one could find the marriage at the Aberystwth records office to check the names of the parents.
As I live in Shropshire, I have no connections with anyone living in the area to check for me.
If this is not possible, then I will have to send for the certificate, hoping that this is the marriage I am looking for.
Cheers,
Gunner16

Hello again

You know his occupation from1911 census, and if you know his Father's name too, you can say that you only want the marriage certificate if the information matches.

Hi - long time since the post (you still there?)
There is a reasonable probability that Charles Edwards, gamekeeper at Glynllyn when 25 was my dads Uncle. My Charles was born in 1886 at The Cinders, Ruabon and the family moved to Erddig (where dads dad Sam was born) before Bersham and then over to Stockton (Woodcote, Shropshire).  Parents were John Edwards (Ironmongers Porter) and Ann Jones (she died I think 1904, Newport registry).  The Charles at Glynllyn I thought maybe mine as John became gamekeeper at Stockton and Charles, started as a groom at 15 but then became a gamekeeper, ending up in South Wales later in life when dad was a kid.  If you have any provenance for the Glynllyn Charles I would appreciate any information if only to rule him out.  I haven't researched him too well as I am concentrating on the Sam up line.
Thanks and happy hunting  :)

Hello smeck  :)

Welcome to Rootschat!

Gunner16 has not been on Rootschat since August 2011, but if still have the same email address, should receive a notification of your Posting.

Your Charles sounds like a promising connection, but the 1919 marriage certificate is really needed to confirm his Father's name and occupation.

Kindest Regards
Morgan

Hi, Smeck,
Yes it is the same family, Charles Archibald Edwards was baptised December.12.1885 in Cinders Ruabon Wrexham.
His farther was John Edwards baptised May,29,1859 in Cinders Ruabon Wrexham, his parents were John Edwards he was born in St Martins Oswestry about 1828 he married Eliza Williams.
Charles Archibald Edwards parents were John Edwards and Ann Jones she died 1904 in Newport Shropshire,John was a gamekeeper at Woodcote Newport Shropshire.
Lost track of John Edwards after his wife died,I think he may have moved back to Wales.
The marriage of Charles A Edwards to Ann Jones in Lampeter in 1919 could be John Edwards son.
I was hoping someone would look it up.
It looks like we are related.
John Gordon Edwards born Feb,25 1929 is my brother In Law his farther was Samuel Edwards
born Feb,3 1892.
Cheers,
Derrick.
