Help, please, to identify place-name

On the Latter-day Saints' transcription of the 1881 census for Glamorgan, my great-grandfather's birthplace is transcribed as Laucynon, Carmarthenshire, which is clearly incorrect.  I have looked at the handwritten version and am none the wiser as the handwriting is virtually undecipherable.  Can anybody suggest which parish this might be?  It's bad enough looking for a Thomas Jones in Carmarthenshire without this sort of complication!!

1871 they're in the same street as in 1881 - Tymaen Street. RG10/5425 folio 98 pg 43. Place of birth for Thomas looks to be Llanwynio/Llanwinio

Do you have a birth cert for any of the children to get mother's maiden name & so find marriage of Thomas & Margaret? This looks a possible for 5 year old Emily in 1881

Thanks, Mo, for the photo of the original.  When I first saw it I read it as Lancrynis or possibly Lancrynio.  Yes, Osprey, I too thought the 1871 version looked like Llanwynio, though in the 1891 census it looks like Llanwyer.  I do have a birth certificate for another daughter, Hannah, who was my grandmother and born in October 1881 (too late for that year's census) and have established the mother's maiden name as Thomas, but this hasn't helped a great deal as her place of birth is variously shown as Margam (1871 census), Michaelstone (i.e. Cwmavon, 1881) and Oakwood (1891), so they could have been married in any one of four places.  Why couldn't their surname have been Featherstonehaugh?!!

All those places are in the Neath registration district. Possible marriage?

Nothing like Llanwyer in Carms. I've checked 'A check-list of Welsh Place Names' as well.
