Don't know what the problem was you had - I just checked the list and it downloaded fine and came up quickly. Perhaps check whether you have a reasonably updated acrobat reader.

Longford records are quite incredible really. Don't know if your families are Protestant or Catholic. Either way there are some truly excellent resources. From about 1750 there are a lot of leases that were registered, but that mostly works for Protestants (no surprise there!) just as the voting list does.

One thing about the 1790 Voter lists - there are places where it is very difficult to decipher the writing of both names and locations. If there is a particular entry of interest, email me at *   and I will get you a jpg of it.

What a fabulous effort and a great resource for lots of people.
Because I am still a novice at Irish research I am not sure what I am looking at, I struggle with knowing the names of places
I am looking for Thomas Elliott (Elliot / Eliot) who was a farmer County Longford - his son James Elliott who became a policeman both in Ireland and London - it says James was born Moydow, County Longford and born about 1835-1837    The Metro Police document says that James was a farmer before being a policeman however other records have James as a policeman in Ireland - according to his marriage 1861 Killucan
I am thinking that Thomas Elliott would appear in land records as he was a farmer
Any clues greatly appreciated, regards Alison - Australia

Unfortunately it looks like this site has been usurped or moved.  Does anyone know if the transcribed list can still be found anywhere?
