ANY WAY OF SEARCHING THE BRIGNORTH JOURNAL MISSING YEARS 1869-1887
I DO KNOW THEY ARE NOT AVAILABLE AT THE LOCAL LIBRARY.

Hi there,
I had a similiar query, so contacted the Journal, who told me to contact the Shropshire Star in Ketley-
Unfortunatley I just got a standard cut & paste reply back - ::)

'.....Good morning,
Thanks for your email.
Unfortunately, due to recent company changes the Shropshire Star will only run a very limited archive service and do not have the facilities of a research library, and members of the public are not able to make appointments to view our archives.
Sadly we cannot assist with enquiries of this nature, and regret that we cannot help on this occasion.
You could try contacting the Shropshire Archives at;

Kind regards,
Editorial Support

Hi,

Not even The British Library in London has copies of the Bridgnorth Journal for the period 1869-1887.

If the news event you seek was of some local or regional importance, I would suggest you check the micro film copies of the Shrewsbury Chronicle at Shropshire Archives. That carried brief articles from other Shropshire towns, including Bridgnorth.
However, given the poor quality of some film readers at Shropshire Archives and the small type face used in the Chronicle, it wouldn't be an easy task to carry out an extensive search. I've tried it and gave up.
