RAF Squiper (parachute packer) ww2
« on: Friday 17 September 10 13:50 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for any info regarding a man called Herbert Lupton who was a parachute packer in ww2, he lived in Hebden Bridge and had a daughter but apart from that I know nothing else, he was a great uncle of my grandfathers.
Would it be a case of writing to RAF Innsworths replacement or because he was a lowly erk am I going to have little chance of finding any info on him?

cheers
 all

Hi M

Even lowly erks records are still kept.  If you have a look at the following it might help guide you:

If his wife or daughter is still around you never know they may have his service record.  Have you tried doing a search on Ancestry to find his wife and family? If not if you put something on the name section someone may go hunting for you.  They are usually very good.
