Quebec death look-up please - SHEARER, 1856

Alexander Shearer, a mason aged 45, drowned in or around Elgin township, Huntingdon, Quebec on 28 August 1856. I wonder if anyone has access to newspaper reports of the time, who might be willing to have a look and see if there are any reports that might shed a little light on what the exact circumstances were. Thanks for any help.
