Hi there

Apols if this is completely the wrong person but hey- worth a try.

My wife's surname is BLACK, and her ancestor Randal John Hamilton Black married Mary Ann Berry in Cavan, 1869.

Wonder if we've the same Mary Ann Berry or whether it's not; you may be able to place 'my' Mary with 'yours'.

Incidentally, following Mary and Randal's marriage, the name Berry remained as a middle name in both the American/Canadian and Irish branches of the Black family.

All the best

Re: THOMAS & MARY BERRY NEE REDFERN IRE.
« Reply #7 on: Friday 08 October 10 06:27 BST (UK) »
I`m looking for any info on the REDFERN family in Ireland, the name doesn`t seem very common in Kilmore And Armagh Diocese, IRE. where THOMAS BERRY (father James died abt.1770-7, co.Cavan) married in 1746, MARY REDFERN, born about 1725.

THOMAS & MARY had two known children;
1/ JANE BERRY b. abt 1748 ( as above) WILLIAM BLEAKLY 30 Jan. 1769, Killeshandra.

2/ MARGERY BERRY b. abt 1752, marr. THOMAS BERRY 1773 ( maybe?)

Maybe the REDFERNS came from another area?

Thank you for your time.
