Farren - Creggan - Derry City
« on: Monday 04 October 10 01:44 BST (UK) »
Hi All,

I am hoping that someone will be able to help me as the informaiton I have is little.

My grandfathers brother was called Paddy Farren orginally from Claudy.  I think he was married to Elizabeth Dorian and I beleive they had a family but I don't know any of there names etc I think they might of lived in Melmore Gardens.

I would be very grateful if anyone could help me fill in any of the blanks.

Thanks

Kieran

If you give us an idea of dates we might be able to help. Melmore Gardens is, I think, a fairly new street in Derry and doesn't seem to be listed in 1911 census.

Hi aghadowey,

Thanks for your help.  I have been able to find all the members born in my grandfathers family.  His brother paddy was born in August 1916 to William Farren and Rose Anne McCloskey.  I believe he might have married Elizabeth Dorrian possibly in Claudy as her mother and father are listed as being married in Claudy.

I think Paddy and Elizabeth had a son called Dominic and daughters.

As I live in London I don't know any of this family apart from what I have heard

Thanks for all your help

Kieran

Unfortunately the sort of recent information you seem to be looking for will not be available online and Rootschat has a 'no living people' policy which prohibits posting such details.

Hi,
I can find a William Farren, a blacksmith, who married Rosanne McCloskey in Feeny R.C. Church (near Claudy) on 7 May 1895. This couple, with several children, appear to be living in Gortilea (Fore Glen, Co. Londonderry) in the 1911 census of Ireland.

Browne, Barrett -Co.Armagh
Neil, Smyth _Co. Antrim
