good afternoon
strange family i see charlotte in 1871 living with her daughter maria now a thompson and grandson henry born 1854 going backward with this lady (maria) she appears to be with her brother robert penfold in 1861 but roberts year of birth is stated as 1816  now iam confused you have a brother robert but birth 1832?? are there 2 sets of children for john penfold?
i will post the 1861 details in case you havent seen them?

hi alibaker, thanks for your comments,i,am confused too, i came across this,1871 cencus,robert penfold has joined up with his brother,william,who also married a thompson girl called priscilla, mabe sisters and note there was another maria born 1832.  In the 1861 and the 1871 cencus, and we have yet another sister,patience,she may have married first an orchard,but then married thomas penfold,son of john and harriet penfold.

this family is definately romany gypsy.there is a lot about them and a lot of relatives on the travellers page on here.they aregt.gt.gt.gt perants to us.charlotte and john.we are still looking for johns perants and charlottes perants.some census say she was born lancashire some say exeter???big difference,
