Not received certificate

Hi,

l purchased 2 marriage cert's for my ggrandparents, l received only one of them and nothing else l have emailed ONS and awaiting reply. What l wanted to find out has anybody else had this happen to them and do they send you another without paying again. Any comments would be appreciated.

The GRO have recently been posting certificates seperately even when they are ordered at the same time (apparently due to the large amount of orders at the moment) so could it be that the other one is still on its way?
The times that I've ordered two or more certs at the same time recently they've arrived in separate envelopes, although I think usually on the same day.

Thats been my experience before seperate envelopes but l have been waiting over a week since the first one came, l thought in the following few days l would get it and l am getting abit panicky.

I oredered two certificates, seperately but on the same day. The projected dispatch dates were 12 April and 8 April. One arrived a week ago.  Yes the one that had 12 April as dispatch date.  I will wait a bit longer.  Did you order over the net?  They give you the projected date which at least is a bit of a guide.

I Had this happen a couple of months ago..... 2 Certs ordered same day ....Same day same order same projected desatch date....(Anything under 5 certs r sent separately)...received one on a tuesday.... about what I would expect by the projected despatch date... I Emailed them when it got to day 6 (A Monday) after the arrival of the first one (a Tuesday) and they suggested I give it a few more days....On the Friday when it still hadnt arrived I Decided to wait till Monday b4 contacting them again and surprise surprise It arrived.....In Between this arrival ....the first cert  of my next order arrived ...the same thing had happenened and I had recieved one of the next 2 I had ordered....The Second one arrived 10 days later so it appears that the date of despatch we are given when we order do not actually mean our certs will be mailed that day    and to get me really cross my credit card has been charged nearly 6 weeks before I have recieved the cert and I might add days before the projected despatch date!!! ...So Dont Give Up Your cert will prob still arrive but when was your credit card charged? ... I have had this happen on a number of occasions - and I have ordered quite a lot of certificates through them - but so far they have all arrived eventually without me chasing them.

Thank you to you all for responding to my post, and l feel better that it has not been only me thats had this happen to.

l have been billed and paid my credit card for all the certs, l missed judge the timing from the 2 before so l had 4 to pay for. Despatch date was 1st April, the one l received was done on the 25th March and posted according to stamp 29th March, so they are doing them quicker now. l suppose l worried that the 2nd one on the order was overlooked. l have only been doing genealogy a few months and had no problems getting other certs when l ordered 2 got them separate envelopes but together. This one just happened to be the one l was really hanging out for.

Well you are all making me feel better too. I order 5 all at once I got four of them a couple of days before I expected all in seperate envelopes, but that was five days ago and I still haven't recieved the fifth. I'll hold on a bit longer and see if it comes before I email them.

This is the first time I've ordered and to get all that information at one time was really exciting!

Hi Wendy,

It is really exciting l agree, my first one arrived middle of Feb and l was elated, since them l have had 5 more, still waiting for one and the excited doesn't decrease in fact l have found l get more excited as l am back to 1851 my ggrandfather was born although l can't find him on 1837 online but have found some spelling mistakes also the year closest to that date is 1849 l might just have to take a chance to see if its him.
