Ann McPherson & William FORSYTH
« on: Friday 08 April 05 03:15 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for ANY reference to William & Ann, my oldest known ancestors, as described in the following 1861 Rhynie, Aberdeenshire parish record.

"James FORSYTH, Private, Foot Artillery, widower of Helen Maconochie, died 3 February 1861 at Essie, aged 77 son of William FORSYTH, farmer, decd., and Ann FORSYTH, MS [maiden surname] McPHERSON, decd."

I'm unable to find any reference to either of them in Aberdeenshire so I'm expanding my search to neighbouring counties.

Any William FORSYTH and/or Ann McPHERSON lead would be greatly appreciated.  Based on James age, they would have married about 1784.  Thank you!

Hi Jack,
Sadly, I can't find anything either, on any of the obvious sites.
except in the 1841 c,  James and Helen both say they ARE born in Aberdeenshire.
as follows,
