COMPLETED - Thanks! What are William Stanley's Twins called?
« on: Wednesday 13 October 10 17:55 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I can read that Henry was one of the twins born to William Stanley, but I can't make out the name of the other, or what is said at the end of the line of text.

Any ideas?

the occupation looks like 'Caulker on yd greene'
which makes no sense.
A caulker was someone who pushed cork into cracks between the planks of wood that made a ship, to make it watertight.
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

The children look like "Dann and Heny" (Daniel and Henry?)

Occupation and place seem to be "Caulker on ye Greene".

Cheers

Thanks Prue

Ancestry have transcribed it as Dann, butit seems such an unlikely name for 1700.  I've never seen it before.

In September 1704 (the twins were baptised in April 1704), William is a distiller of King Street (same church).

How likely is it that there were two William Stanleys living in the parish do you think?
