« on: Friday 08 April 05 17:46 BST (UK) »
JonathanW was looking through the "The London Gazette" site at  http://www.gazettes-online.co.uk and noticed that they had some Naturalisation Notices there.

Try it and see, anything to find those elusive "foreigners" !!!

He also found notices of "foreigners" changing their names "I duly declare I now wish to be known as ...."

Check out the reference he gives in http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,48928.0/topicseen.html

From September 1886 The National Gazette published a monthly "List of Aliens" naturalized during the previous month.  If you search the term List of Aliens, then sort the result according to date order, you can then open and read the lists for individual names.
