Wellington Archive lookup JOHNSON *COMPLETED*

Hi magnz,

I checked the reference and reordered your JOHNSON file today. The archivist I dealt with wondered if instead of box 24 it might be in box 4, however no luck there either. Apparently the New Plymouth probates are old, fragile and messed up.

As I left the senior archivist was searching the boxes one by one looking for your file and will contact me with an answer. I hope to get a positive answer for you.

Lil, I managed to find yours and have photos for you. Can you send me a PM with your email address, please.

Hi magnz,

The senior archivist I spoke with the other day has told me that Archives NZ do not hold this file, which originated at Stratford (hence the 'S' in the reference). She is confident that the file no longer exists and may never have been transferred to Archives at all. Archives will no doubt alter their records to reflect this.

It's been a long haul but at least now you have an answer.
