Parry / Rees.
« on: Friday 22 October 10 20:12 BST (UK) »
Hello , New member on here. I am looking for information on the parents of
John Parry dob. 1823 (about)  and his wife Elizabeth Rees dob 1826.
John & Elizabeth were both born in Brecknock. Married in the Zoar Chapel at
Merthyr Tydfil 24 March 1849. Marriage certificate shows John age 26yrs  &
Elizabeth 23yrs both living in Ivor St. Dowlais. Johns father also John was a labourer, Elizabeth's father Thomas was a collier (deceased) I think her mother
was called Hannah, as their 1st child was named that. also there is a Mary Parry named as a witness could this be Johns mother. ?? Johns father did not sign the certificate.  Any help with information will be greatly appreciated.

Hello Cardiff,  Thank you for the speedy responce.  Yes I think that is my family.
John is my G.G.Grandfather, I had so many different birth years for him I was giving up hope. Now I hope I can find a few more in that area.
 Many thanks to you  Cardiff.

Hi Eddie ,i descend from Johns son  James b1854 the younger brother of william b1851.
james was the first sibling born in middlesbrough after the move from south wales.
i can tell you from your line that Williams grandson Edward son of Alice B1889 is actually buried with john his great grandad in a unmarked grave in old linthorpe cemetry.

Hi Jeff,
Thank you for that info about Edward and John.  I think we may have
many more relatives in that old cemetery.    Teesside archive and a local historian are doing a project on the cemetery and are helping people locate their relatives graves.   I am going to get in touch with the archive for more information.  Let you know what I find out.

Eddie.
