I wonder if anyone can help ......
Jane North born 1873 living in Chester Street Birmingham in 1901 with two children Frank L. North age 7 and Agnes Irene North age 5
Agnes Irene North was my wifes Grandmother but all efforts to trace her family have failed all as we know is she married William Howard Juxon.. who was her father ?

Hello,

Do you have a birth certificate for either Agnes or Frank? That should show whether Jane North was married or a single mother and if it is the former, her husband's name and her maiden name will also be there.

I've checked 1901 and Jane North says she is married on the census form. This doesn't necessarily mean she really was - some women gave their  status as married because it looked better.

By 1911, there is another addition to the family - Ivy Winifred, born 1908 and still no sign of a husband for Jane. But I haven't looked at the original image as that involves buying credits. If you were to do that, you might find more useful information.

There is a marriage in Dec 1892 in West Bromwich of a Reuben North- one of the ladies on that page is a Jane Sansom.

In 1901 Reuben is in the county asylum at RG13 /2850 Folio 162 page 12

It lists him as a railway carter but a lunatic (everyone on the page is the same)

I wonder if that may be the right husband?

That should also show the name and profession of her dad.

Well I got the Birth Certificate this morning from the register office in Brum and
Carol and Jen were correct
Agnes Irene North born 6th August 1895 at back of 49 Lingard St. Nechells Duddeston..........Father Reuben North carriage railway cleaner.....
Mother Jane North formely Sansom
