Harris family - Surrey and Buckinghamshire
« on: Monday 01 November 10 16:11 GMT (UK) »
This is OH's side and very elusive but with the help of kind Rootschatters we have established that there is this:

1881 - RG11/768/69/36
Living in a tent, Woodham Lane, Woodham

John Lines Mar 21 Pedlar Hawker Bunkiss/Bunkers, Surrey
George Harris Mar Pedlar Hawker Buckenhamshire [stet]
Rebecca Lines Mar 20 Living in a tent Buckenhamshire
Ann Harris Mar 24 Buckenhamshire
Henry Harris 1 Chertsey, Surrey

George went on to have another son George b 1884 who married an Ann (Anselina) Harris. They are meant to have been cousins.

The Woodham Lane tent seems to have been a common haunt as they were living there in 1911 and my OH's grandfather was born in a tent near Woking.

Could anyone help me with this family, please.

AGeorge's other children include a Phoebe Harris 1904 who married Edward Ruffle and Annie Harris b 1910(poss Anselina too) who married Levi Loveridge and our link Ernest Albert born 1907...

In the second entry, the families living in tents next door are also rebecca Lines 19 and the family of a Samuel Lines..
Could they have been registered in 2 places?

I have done some digging with family member and found out that my grandparents George Harris was married to Anselina Chandler and we believe
she was from the moses/Moore family...originally the family lived in Cork
and Thomas Carey married Sarah Anderson, had a son Levi who married Naomi who
had a daughter Ann maria Carey who lived in tents on newlands corner
where the moses/Moore started is unclear..but George Harris was part of that
family who married Ann maria Carey and they had 5 kids...Ernest A, John, Henry
and George who married my grandmother Anselina..hope this is useful
