Starting with the 1911 census entry- says married 12 years so c1899 or 1898 probably. Although 9 children are listed there seems to have been another child that had died before the census. Note that 14 is the number of the household on that particular census form and not the street number for the building.
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Mayo/Kiltamagh/Cordarragh__Thomas_Street/739120

And here's the family in 1901-
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Mayo/Kiltimagh/Pound_Street__Kiltimagh/1597615

Irish marriage certificates list only fathers' names and occupations (not mothers' names) but by searching for each in civil registration index and cross-referencing results you should hopefully be able to find the details needed to order the certificate. See Introduction to Irish Records-

Hello Mick
I may be able to help you with your requests with regard to the Farrell family of Co Mayo
(in fact it lit seems we are related)
James and Catherine Farrell are my grandparents on my mother's side
My mother was Mary Josephine Farrell (then Hindle) who came to Bradford from Ireland and married my Dad - Harry Hindle
So your Dad was  my mother's brother and my uncle Pat

Welcome to Rootschat  :) Mick hasn't been online since 2016 and his registered email address isn't working so he may not see your reply although it's difficult to tell if he's still interested in the topic since he never responded to my earlier post. Since that time there are lots of new Irish resources online, many of them free, so do let us know if you need help finding information or advice.

Thanks for your prompt reply
And thanks for the early Irish Census information
It brought a lump to my throat seeing the actual document written by my grandfather (who died long before I was born) and seeing my mother listed as a six month old baby
I am curious to know how most of the Farrell children ended up in an orphanage in Sligo (Banada Convent near Tubbercurry)
It would appear that Grandad,  James Farrell and Grandmother,  Catherine must have both died within a very few years of the 1911 Census and within a short while of each other
I am aware that that period of Irish history was one torn by conflict and I did wonder if the events are related?
Where could I begin?

Just in case there's a connection- a James Farrell, cooper, died 1931- he's a widower but can't see a likely death for Catherine in same registration district-
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1931/04902/4328820.pdf

Daughter Delia Farrell born 1900-

1911 census says married 12 years, had given birth to 10 children but one had died. Poor woman was probably exhausted!

Another child, Agnes, born 13 June 1914 so Catherine was still alive up until that point.

Possibly twin daughters, Nora and Minnie, born 6 Dec.1911 (father Farrell, mother Brennan, Swinford district) but correct image doesn't seem to be attached  :-\
