Holy Trinity Grave Yard
« on: Saturday 06 November 10 17:30 GMT (UK) »
My gg.grandfather died in Wakefield in 1894.and was buried on feb 11th 1894 in the above grave yard.Problem is I can't find a Church in Wakefield with that name. He and his family lived until 1891 in Avisons yard and was living in Grove Street on his death.....Where were these in that period.

Check out Google maps.
Avison Yard is in the Kirkgate area, towards the A61. Postcode WF1 1UA.
Grove St. is about 200 yards South, between Grove Road and Ings Road. Postcode WF1 1UN.

Not sure if you have received further information on this graveyard.  It is a very small graveyard would only take a few minutes to look round.  It is on Thornhill Street ( right next to the Job Centre) just off George Street.  If you would like me to look at a grave for you please contact me back.

Regards
Catherine

I would recheck your info ? as The Holy Trinity chapelry (Church) on George Street did not do burials in the church register or nor had a graveyard

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth

Hi
Sorry if I got the fact wrong.  I have seen a small graveyard just over the road from Trinity Church Gate and thought that this must be connected with the church that was there.  Will check the facts in future.
