Where can I find records of people who were employed by NER in Gateshead between 1860 and 1960?
Sutcliffe, Pudsey, Fulneck, Gateshead, Sunderland
Damms, Norfolk, Sunderland
Fenwick, Gateshead, Whickham Co Durham
Naylor, Gateshead
James, Brixham
Briggs, Barking, Hull
Horrocks, Hull

The National Railway museum at York ,go to there web site it has lots of information of how to search for Railway employees,It would be a great starting point ,they also have a forum,
Gunning County Down,Kneale Isle of Man,Riddle Tynemouth,Bibby Kendal/Bradford,Colenso Penzance/Barrow-in-Furness,Steele Corney Fell,Chapman Ely,Dawes Alfreton,Blamire Westmoreland and Ulverston

The Darlington Railway Museum were also very helpfull when I wanted to find information about a NER employee.

After 1923 when it became part of the LNER all ex NER employees had the option to join the GNR Friendly Society.As there was no sick pay at that time, virtually all joined. The records survive at Doncaster Borough Archive, King Edward Road, Balby Doncaster.
