new to roots chat noticed your post about Samuel Pickard (gamekeeper), Mary Pickard and children living in Hunsingore Yorkshire. (born 1802? Barwick in Elmet), re 1841 census
do you know anything about Samuels past, parents names maybe?
Only recently started looking at F/H Im back to Samuel

Samuel Pickard - Bramham

No other Samuel Pickard mentioned - and Bramaham/ Hunsingore quite close each other?

Pickard  Samuel   appointed by the Honourable Henry Lascelles, for Goldsbro'


The Hull Packet, Friday September 17, 1841
List (3) of Gamekeepers being assessed servants at £1 7s 6p

Pickard  Samuel        Ribston Great           appointed by Joseph Dent, Esq for Ribston Great, with Walshford, Hunsingore and Cattall

The same appointment is recorded in The Hull Packet, Friday September 30, 1842 (and still at the old rate of £1 7s 6d !!)
