Found a Richard Thomas on a New York Passenger List - Richard Thomas. Born 1890  Forest Fach  ??? wales. Aged 23 years. Travelling Liverpool to New York arriving 4 May 1913 on SS Caronia. Father was John Thomas of James Street. Pontardulais. He was travelling to Indiana Harbour. Indiana to an Uncle William Thomas 3618 Grape Vine Street. Indiana Harbour. Indiana.

Think I've found Richard's Attestation Papers in Canada Soldiers of WW1 and he gives an address 33503 Fir Street. Indiana Harbour. Indiana. Names Mrs Ann Thomas as his next of kin. Arosfa. James Street. Pontardulais. Swansea. South Wales. Born Dec 30th 1889. Occupation Machinist and he is single. Dated 29th October 1917.

Sandra thank you so much! I didn't expect someone to do all the work for me! Thanks for your PM. Thomas is probably Melvilles Uncle. You have also given me a steer on a letter I have from David T Davies. I didn't know how he fitted into the family before! Absolute star! ;D ;D

Not sure if anybody is still watching this post, but i just found it while searching my grandfather's name Melville Thomas. Last time i attempt to track the Thomas name i didn't have much luck past the names i already knew such as Sarah Olivia Davies, William Ewart Thomas (whose diplomas I have hanging on my wall from the london College of Violinists from 1914 and 1919). I do not have any of my records in front of me at the moment, but would love for any relatives to contact me to exchange information.
