Hi I am researching my family,  and just by chance spotted your post, the family is Frederick Fenlon and I see you have a reference to a F Fenlon attached in Castle st, do you have anymore information ?. a Jerimiah was born in Mauldlington (?) in 1841 and married a Mary Anne Nolan,

Hi Shellback

I'm interested in your reference to Katie Clowery. I have a great Aunt by this name b1892 (nee Dalton) who married in 1913 and died in 1925. I know she resided in Barrack St at date of death but that's all. Do you have any more details?

At the bottom of the Lane opposite the Graveyard I remember from the late 1960's an old lady by the name of "Fortune" living in a small rather run down cottage. She's no longer alive but do you know anything of her history?

Attached are the names of the residents in the area as at 1936.

[/quote Hi I'm sorry I don't have any information for you, Jerimiah is my relative  he was quite well travelled he had one son in Yokaharma Japan also another in Natal Africa , they came back to live in Liverpool and moved to Manchester, we are still here, the original spelling was Phenelon but seems to have changed over time, sorry I can't help.

What about no 2 Edan Vale o' Neil's

There was an O'neill family there allright. Pronounced Nail. Nellie, Christy, Liam, Elsie. Christy did a lot of fishing. think the mum was Alice. Nellie lambert ( née o neill) lived there too.

From the 1901 census (reply #32), her father was Michael Devereux, a seaman. Her mother Margaret Devereux (nee Hayes).

Death of Margaret Devereux on 9 August 1906 aged 52 yrs at Faythe, Wexford town (and widow of Michael Devereux, a sailor). Her sister-in-law Ellen Devereux was the informant.
