COMPLETED help with 1871 census Dorset - not listed on Ancestry
« on: Thursday 02 December 10 22:12 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
Jebber kindly found a family I couldn't trace.  Namely John & Emma Burt and their son George William (born 1869 Puddletown, Dorset).

I have been given the page/folio number for them on the 1871

RG10 piece 1996 folio 58 page 2

I have tried typing this into Ancestry and it doesn't exist???  Can someone look them up please and let me have the details??

Thanks
Joan

You have already asked for full details on your previous post only 15 minutes ago - no point posting a duplicate request

Hi CaroleW

This is so frustrating.  No wonder I couldn't find the family.  I'd tell Ancestry, but the last time I told them something was missing I was basically told   "we are not aware of any records missing for this particular area, perhaps your family was missed off the census".   That was for Openshaw, Manchester 1901, since then I have found another two families msising from the Openshaw 1901 census.  So I'm not wasting my time telling them because obviously there are some missing for Tyneham, Dorset 1871 as well -  and the chances are Ancestry will respond in a similar way - ggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

JenB

Thank you so much you have found them and it is the correct one  woo hoo.

CaroleW

Yes I did post earlier in reply to Jebbers message, then I realised she was not online and thought I'd see if anyone else could find the informaton for me.

I shall mark both posts as completed.

Thanks you so much for your help
Joan
